Introduction
The Diodes and Transistors Workshop introduces participants to the basic principles of semiconductor devices through a practical electronics approach. The workshop covers diode operation, polarization curves, basic circuits using Kirchhoff laws, rectifier circuits, and the introductory use of transistors as switching and amplification devices.
The workshop is organized in two sessions. Day 1 focuses on the diode, its current-voltage characteristic, basic polarization, and rectification. Day 2 introduces bipolar junction transistors and field-effect transistors, emphasizing their operation, biasing, and basic use as amplifiers.
